Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are sad to announce that the decision has been made to cancel the 2020 Shinnenkai.
We would like to thank everyone that stepped forward to support this wonderful event, including the Japanese American Service Committee, Japanese Culture Center and the Japan Information Center, as well as all of the individuals that offered to donate their time and resources.
The officers are committed to finding ways to continue to engage the community, and we look forward to hosting several smaller scale events and meet-ups over the next few months. Also, this does not mean that the Shinnenkai is being discontinued permanently, as we hope that once our situation has stabilized, we can focus on presenting a reinvigorated Shinnenkai in 2021. In the meantime, keep an eye on this newsletter and our social media and website for updates.
If there are any questions regarding this decision or our plans moving forward, we are more than happy to answer them. The President can be contacted directly at president@jetaachicago.com and questions or concerns can be brought to the entire board at info@jetaachicago.com. We want to be as open and transparent about this as possible, so we will make ourselves available to anyone that reaches out.
Thank you for your time and continued support.
