ANNUAL EVENTS
JETAA Chicago hosts a variety of annual events for our members, such as our Shinnenkai, BOWLnenkai, Career Development Workshop and more. Check out highlights of a handful of our annual events below.

Survival Series
JETAA Chicago hosts a survival departure series for Outgoing JETs in the Chicago, Wisconsin, and Indiana area. The Survival Series is aimed at preparing Outgoing JETs for life in Japan, as well as providing tips and tricks on not only navigating Japan and Japanese lifestyle, but how to connect with the community and environment as well. If you are an Outgoing JET and are looking for information to aid you in your transition to Japan, the Survival Series is for you! The Survival Series consists of a variety of mediums - including guest Alumni speakers - to cover topics such as, but not limited to, culture shock and work-life balance. The JET Community is large and we are always looking forward to sending new JETs off as well as welcoming back!

Career Development Workshop & Career Counseling Sessions
The JETAA Chicago Career Development Workshop is held annually (typically in November) and features advice and discussion from JET alumni and friends regarding networking, choosing a career path, job applications, and more! This event is aimed at providing career advice for JETAA members, whether they are newly returning from JET, or involved in a later-stage career change. Career Development Workshops, along with career counseling sessions led by Emily Frank of the Career Catalyst, are sure to bring JETAA members a boost in motivation, direction, and determination.
