The Japan America Society of Chicago will be hosting their virtual 2022 Illinois Japan Bowl: Japanese Culture Trivia event on Saturday, March 19 from 10:00-2:00 pm.

This has been another challenging year for students and teachers, and our goal for this year’s event is to create a fun space to expand student’s knowledge and interest in Japanese culture and language. Students will be participating in all aspects of Japanese culture and language individually, however they will register for the event in teams of three. Each individual score will be added to create a final team score. All questions will have multiple choice answers.

Since this year’s competition will be held via Kahoot, we are currently seeking the below volunteers:

  1. Question writers (help a team lead in level 2, 3 or 4 choose and confirm 75 questions for each level, as well as create additional questions/answers. For level 3 and level 4 teams, fluency and/or heightened knowledge of Japanese language/culture required)

  2. Room monitor (monitor each level of competition via ZOOM)

  3. Tally volunteer (assist with tallying of team scores for each level)

Our goal is to have all questions and answer choices complete by the end of February.

If you are interested in volunteering please email kono@jaschicago.org no later than Monday, January 31.

Thank you so much for all of your support!!!
