Upcoming Japanese Film Events at Chicago's Logan Theater



On Wednesday September 8th, the Japanese Culture Center will host a viewing of Kinji Fukasaku’s Battles without Honor or Humanity, also known as Yakuza Papers. This cult classic will be accompanied by a pre-viewing 21+ party, talks by guest speakers Tatsu Aoki and Lee Ferdinand, and an additional Q&A session after the film. The event schedule is as follows:

  • 8:00 pm CDT 21+ Yakuza Papers Party

  • 9:30 pm CDT Talks by Aoki & Ferdinand

  • 10:30 pm CDT Film Viewing

  • After Film Q&A

On Friday, September 10th, the film festivities continue with Sofia Coppola’s Lost in Translation. Accompanied by a pre-film VIP Party sponsored by Suntory Times, this fundraising event is an opportunity to support the great work that the Japanese Culture Center and Japanese Arts Foundation do for the Chicago community and beyond. The event schedule is as follows:

  • 8:00 pm CDT Suntory Times VIP Party - Limited tickets $35

  • 10:00 pm CDT Film Viewing
