JETAA Chicago welcomes you to another installment of the Japanese Language Series!


Join us Wednesday, July 21st from 7-8 pm CST, for the next JETAA Chicago Japanese Language Series game night! This time, we will be playing Karuta (modified for Zoom) and more Shiritori! Never played before? Unsure of your proficiency level? That’s okay! All levels of experience with Japanese are welcome!


The Japanese Language Series events are intended to bring together JETAA members and supporters who want to stay engaged with Japanese language learning and use.

The Japan Society presents "The Inside Edge: Skating Champions from Japan & the U.S." as part of their Passing the Torch series, a celebration of the upcoming Tokyo Summer Games. This virtual event will take place on Tuesday, June 29, 8:00 PM EST.

Champion figure skaters from Japan and the U.S. will speak out about training and competing, the athletic mindset and resiliency in overcoming challenges, superfans and the extreme popularity of the sport in Japan, and life after competitive skating. Viewers will be able to ask direct questions during this interactive online program.


This is a free event conducted via Zoom, with advance registration required. Suggested donations are welcome to support the Japan Society's innovative programs. See their website for more details and registration.

 
 
 

There's still time to register for our second Japanese Language Night! These events are intended to bring together JETAA members and supporters who want to stay engaged with Japanese language learning and use.

Our second meeting will take the form of a Pecha Kucha (chatting) night on Tuesday, June 15th from 6-7 pm CST! We welcome everyone to join in on the fun and practice their language skills. Breakout rooms will be opened to make space for small group discussions, and will accommodate different language ability levels ranging from beginner to intermediate to advanced.
