We were very grateful for the opportunity to host talented photographer Akito Tsuda last year for a discussion of his life as an artist in the Chicago neighborhood of Pilsen in the 1990s, so we are thrilled to share the news that a new exhibit, Akito Tsuda: Pilsen Days, will open at the Harold Washington Library on June 3rd! There will also be an exhibition opening reception on June 8th from 2-4 pm CST. Several of our officers will be going to visit the exhibit, and we encourage you to join us in supporting Mr. Tsuda's work! See more details on the Chicago Public Library's website.

Join us on Friday, June 21 from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM, CST,  for JETAA Chicago's '24 Survival Series event, Ikiru Nihongo, for outgoing '24 JETs! This event will provide a crash course to the most critical language skills needed to soften your landing in Japan. We will cover language for on the job (office titles, politeness strategies, school and office terms), language for daily life (shopping, doctors visits, and homegoods), and developing a study plan suited to your goals, whether you aspire to long-term proficiency or just enough to SURVIVE!

This event will be completely remote over Zoom, and any resources and recordings from the event will be made available afterwards.

Sign up here!

This event is open to outgoing JETs and alumni.
