Kobe College Corporation-Japan Education Exchange (KCC-JEE) is now accepting applications for the following position from motivated English language teachers wishing to enrich their professional career at a high-ranking academic institution in Japan.


Job Title, School and Location

• Full-time Teacher of English as an Other Language with extra-curricular duties to high-achieving Japanese girls in grades 7 through 12

• Kobe College Junior and Senior High School, a comprehensive private school http://www.kobejogakuin-h.ed.jp/english/message.html

• Nishinomiya, Japan


Contract, Salary and Benefits

• Two-year contract, beginning April 1, 2025, with the possibility of extensions for up to a total of a five-year stay

• A salary of 4,691,200 yen per year plus subsidized furnished housing provided by the school, and Japanese language study


Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree (with a major in English or Education preferred)

• Speaker of standard English with strong grammar and writing skills Preferred

• TESOL certification

• Teaching Credential (any state)


Position Expectations

• Be flexible to either team teach or solo teach

• Be able to write lesson plans

• Be able to create/modify a curriculum according to the students’ linguistic needs and interests by incorporating activities such as conversations, speeches, cultural discussions, debates, group projects, and presentations

• Fully participate with colleagues in extracurricular professional duties before and after designated class time

The Board of Directors of the Japanese American Service Committee (JASC) has opened a search for the organization’s next Chief Executive Officer (CEO).


JASC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has served the Japanese American and broader community for over 75 years by providing social services to aging adults; the Legacy Center historical archive which preserves and shares Chicago’s Japanese American experience; cultural and educational programs for people of all ages and backgrounds; and a shared place for community. Later this year, JASC will be fulfilling its long-time dream of moving into a newly renovated building that will create a destination center for the community. JASC’s new home will be in the West Ridge neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois at 5700 N. Lincoln Avenue. JASC is at an exciting and pivotal moment in time, with sound operations and base of supporters.


JASC is seeking a talented executive leader capable of positioning the organization for the future by setting the vision, strategy, and plans; then, engaging people to act and participate. This individual will become a key leader in the community at large, and work with staff, board, funders, and stakeholders across academia, government, private sector, the arts, and other community organizations. The CEO will report to the Board of Directors. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
