Volkan Lighting is looking for a teacher who can commit to 8 hours of weekly ESL teaching for a group of 5-6 asylum seekers aged 22-30 years old whose native language is Turkish. The goal of the class is to improve the students' English so they feel confident in moving forward with their new lives here in the US.

Ideally the class would be for 8 hours on a Saturday (including a 1 hour paid lunch as well as two other 10-15 minute breaks scheduled at the teacher's discretion). However, the company is willing to work with the right teacher to find a schedule that works best for the teacher and students.

The classes will be held in the office where the students work during the week in Schaumburg, IL.

The teacher would need to develop their own program: choosing curriculum, assessing students and measuring progress.

All materials will be provided for the teacher: including books (student workbooks & teaching manuals), paper, printer/copier, white board, and TV connected to computer.

The compensation will be $200 for each 8 hour class.

If you have any questions or would like to see if you would be a good fit for this opportunity, please contact Amanda McClintock (ALT Shizuoka-Ken, 2001-2004) at amanda.mcclintock@gmail.com
